Learn how to attach, load, and use a pickup bag dispenser like the Ruffwear Stash Bag Mini to keep your walks clean and convenient.
Quick answer
Attach the dispenser to your leash, load a standard roll of bags, and dispense one at a time through the small side opening.
Why use a dedicated dispenser instead of carrying bags loose?
A pickup bag dispenser like the Stash Bag Mini keeps bags clean, tangle-free, and always within reach. Loose bags can tear, get lost, or be awkward to handle when you need them most.
Trade-off: compact size means limited capacity
The Stash Bag Mini fits a standard-sized roll, not jumbo rolls. If you walk multiple dogs or need extra bags, consider carrying a backup roll in your pocket.
How to use the Stash Bag Mini dispenser
- Attach the dispenser to your leash: Loop the two attachment points around your leash—one near the handle, one lower down. Adjust so the dispenser hangs evenly and doesn't slide. Make sure the attachment points are snug to avoid swaying during walks.
- Load the bag roll: Unzip the main compartment and place a standard roll of pickup bags inside. Pull the first bag through the small side opening. Don't overstuff—the compartment is designed for one standard roll only.
- Dispense a bag one at a time: When you need a bag, pull the next one from the side opening. The dispenser releases one bag cleanly without exposing the whole roll. Avoid yanking multiple bags at once—it can jam the opening.
- Close the dispenser after use: Zip the main compartment shut to keep the roll dry and secure. The soft construction stays quiet during movement. Always zip it closed to prevent bags from falling out on rough terrain.
