Wore it around my waist on a five-mile trail run and barely noticed the leash at all, which is wild for a hands-free setup. The side-release buckle lets me cinch it down for running then loosen it for a casual walk without ever unclipping from my dog.
The buckle adjustment is so smooth I can tighten it mid-walk without stopping, and the lightweight build genuinely disappears when it's clipped around my waist. My dog and I hit our usual trail pace without any tugging or tangles, and my hands stayed free the whole time.
