Took this on a muddy trail with my dog and the built-in harness held up great, no rubbing or shifting the whole hike. The abrasion-resistant shell barely shows any scratches from pushing through brush. Way easier than clipping a separate leash adapter every time.
The integrated harness is the reason I bought this and it works exactly as hoped — I clip the leash straight to the vest and we're out the door in seconds. It's held up fine through blackberry bushes and muddy trails, and the insulation keeps me warm without the bulk of a full jacket.
I was skeptical about the built-in harness gimmick, but it's honestly genius for trail walks. The integrated connection point means I can clip the leash on and go, no fumbling with a separate harness, and it held up fine against the scrubby brush along the path.
